I’ve always drawn things. As a kid, I would make picture books and paper cut-out characters from my favourite TV shows. When I got older, I replaced yellow-and-black striped pencils with lovelier tins of Derwent graphite pencils, swapped felt tips for oil paints, and began experimenting with ink and thread.

I now work as an illustrator with a preference for work that looks folky, inky, and a little bit messy. Previous clients have included Immediate Media, Go Ape, Essex Wildlife Trust, the University of Essex, Durham University, the University of Oslo, Wivenhoe House Hotel, and Sketchbook Studios.

I’ve been taking a break from working with commercial clients while I spend some time experimenting with some new materials (hello, fancy new Caran D’Ache crayons) and working on some ideas for children’s books.

However, if you’re looking for some illustration work that’s in keeping with the style below, or if you’d like to see some of my more recent experiments, please send me an email at hello@rhiannonbull.com
