Outside of the written work I produce for clients, I also write fiction and narrative nonfiction. In 2021, I was shortlisted for the Nan Shepherd Prize for underrepresented voices in nature writing, and I’ve previously had shorter pieces published in Summer: An Anthology for the Changing Seasons anthology (edited by Melissa Harrison in support of The Wildlife Trusts) and in the Bath Short Story Award 2016 anthology. In 2022, I spoke on a panel about nature writing as part of the Edinburgh Book Fringe, and in 2023 I chaired an event on nature writing with Lighthouse Books in Edinburgh.

As with all my work, my writing is informed by my interest in and enthusiasm for the natural world; this is reflected most obviously in my nature writing, but also creeps into my fiction, which keeps returning to our relationship with our landscapes.
